Day 5 : Slip Sliding Away

Really not much to say except

"You must go to White Water World and go on every single ride, especially the hydrocoaster... it works cause of magnets! Its like a rollercoaster made love to a slippery dip in a pool!"

And that my handmade bikini bottoms went swell. Thanks Frankie issue from way back in 2005.

Hmmmm, I'm thinking of dropping my Yen subscription for a Peppermint subscription instead... Two issues left on my Yen subscription, and just signed up for a year of Peppermint. So far the only other mag I subscribe is Frankie...

Mmmmmm, Birch Trees.

I love the whimsical quality of birch trees, and how they look near buildings. Renzo Piano actually used them in a courtyard with moss hills in the new-ish New York Times building, my heart nearly stopped it looked so pretty..

And then one of the artists featured in Frankie, Erin Paisley, used them in one of her artworks, along with another emblem of great whimsy, the red fox...

But what really inspired this post was an Australian designer collaborative Ink & Spindle who create the most beautiful fabric; Tegan, Bianca & Lara...

Frankie Photography

I love getting my bi-monthly Frankie fix... full of cool, inspirational people, awesome photoshoots and tons of clothes and stuff that I desperately want. I sent in a photo for their 30th issue "birthday present" and was so chuffed when they used it in the issue!!! [click image to read the big version]


Plus I got my name in lights! wooo!


The photo is of my friend Jess's house, its full of awesome wallpaper and a really cool vintage sideboard/shelving unit... jealous!

Osier in Frankie Magazine!

I am so excited to announce that the lovely people at Frankie Magazine let me give some of my Vice brooches away in their latest issue. I am an avid follower of the magazine, and haven't missed an issue since I found them. They're very supportive of the independent handmade community and I often find many inspirational artists inside. Check out my appearance on page 21 in current issue 25.
