Perth Upmarket - November

Yay! Its off to market I go this Sunday coming, for the October edition of Perth Upmarket. I'll be showing off some new stuffs, plus I'll try and have some of my classic designs that have had a rest for a year or two now, like my snowy owl design....

So to get you all excited, I thought I'd share some photos of Upmarkets in the past...

I'll be in a different spot than usual, so anyone who is a regular - come and find me in the FOYER. (usually I'm upstairs in Winthrop Hall)

Boiling the Kettle.

Sounds like a great idea - I'll be squeezing in lots of crafting before my stall at Angove St Festival this weekend, as part of the Perth Upmarket Pop-Up Market.

See you all there my dears, it's nice to take a break from all the uni hecticness.

My Architectural Education

Fashion + Architecture = Awesomeness

I love it when my two loves intertwine (for those who are new here, I'm an architecture student) - I've just finished my 950-1500 word essay on wearable technology art, which essentially is art that humans wear that makes a comment on technology.

This is the piece I wrote about;

You can check out more cool things by Studio Orta *over here*

Now that I've shared that with you, I need to get some sleep seeing as its 2.49am and I need to get up at 1/4 to 7...

9 days. 3 assignments. 1 to go.

Then its time to get ready for Perth Upmarket!

Perth Upmarket Piccies from last Sunday

Broken 80-year-old windows, meeting internet friends in the flesh and catching up with other friends was my day. Plus a big hello to all those who came up and were brave enough to say "Hi, I read your blog" You make my day people, you really do. Particularily one super-well dressed lass who I awed over so much I think she might have gotten a little embarrased. Sorry about that well-dress-girl. I meant to take a picture of you but I wasn't at my stall when you came back for your rocking-horse-ring. Nevermind.

Read Dropstitch's post HERE, she took a snap of my cacti/succulent table. :)

Perth Upmarket Piccies from Today

Hello all!

I have tired feet and a tired head, but had lots of fun, lots of nice people bought stuff from me and I got some free soaps for saving some ladies from their wind-prone sign with magic red tape.

Gosh it was so windy.

I made a whole set of new displays for this market, I've been itching to do it for ages but havn't been able to until uni finished.

Plus a revamp of my OSIER sign and I brought my lil' school desk that debuted at MOTL.

Alritey then, I'm gonna go get to work on all the custom orders I got today PLUS the two wholesale works I've got due. Gaaaah! Will post about them tomorrow :)

Christmas is Coming at William Topp

Christmas at William Topp img3

Here's what will be appearing at William Topp in the next few days... make sure you pop into the city and have a look! Kate (the lovely lady who owns the store!) has ordered a pile of goodies from me to make your Christmas shopping easier! She also stocks plenty of other amasing designers from accross Australia PLUS some awesome vintage finds...

If you'd like a bigger range, or really want to get your Christmas shopping out of the way and buy all indie-designed and handmade this Christmas (I mean, something WA made is a lot more precious and meanigful than something produced in a Chinese sweatshop... Am I right?) I'll be at the Christmas Upmarket this Sunday, so make sure you pop down and have a look at all the amasing gifts on offer... and if you come and visit me, mention this blog post and you can have a 10% "special friends" discount! Oh my gosh!
Here's a piccy of last Perth Upmarket in June/July sometime...

Hope to see you on the weekend!

Got nothing to do this Sunday?
Never fear, Perth Upmarket is here!

This Little Piggy went to Market

Firstly, huge thankyou to all who came on what was essentially a MUCH too cold day to do anything but snuggle up in your doona at home. My day started rather earlier than I had anticipated, having accidentally pressed the wrong buttons on my alarm clock, changing the time forward an hour instead of just changing the alarm time. So there I was, dressed, fed and packed, ready to leave... and then i glance at the clock in the kitchen, which proudly announces its 6 o'clock in the bloody morning, which means i has gotten up at a wholly ungodly hour of 5AM!!!! This is from the girl who has been known to get up at 5 in the afternoon on occasion. So after i went back to bed for an hour and a half (with all my clothes, hair, makeup etc) i got out to my car which was covered in frost... bugger.

But never theless, I left, drove, arrived, set up, drank copious amounts of (rather dodgy) skinny latte to wake me up, and waited for the hordes to arrive. And arrive they did, to my complete surprise, but really, Justine (lovely organising lady) does such a good job of marketing that I sholdnt really have expected anything less.

So, I launched some of my laser-cut designs, which were complimented and bought, much to my delight and great releif, and the old favourites such as Christopher Poker Brooches and Vintage Button Rings were again snapped up with enthusiasm. But best of all, I has some return customers, which always makes my day (especially when I remember them!)

And so, on with the pictures:

Osier, originally uploaded by treis - six seasons. on [flickr]

That would be me with my new haircut trying not to look silly as I usually do with photos. And failing miserably.

And this is my stall at the beginning of the day. I think I'm getting to almost the perfect setup.

These are just a taste of whats to come as part of my new laser-cut label; PIP AND EMILY. I'll list the unsold stock on etsy in the next week or so, if you're interested *nudgenudgewinkwink*

Right, I've harooned on for long enough I think, might be time to send off my application to the next market (Made On The Left) and go to bed.

Perth Upmarket

Well I certainly had a good time, sales went well and I met lots of interesting people (all my customers were very friendly and excited about so much handmade goodness in one place!), as well as catching up with members of the WA etsy sellers group. I'm applying for the December one too, I had such a great time!

Here are some pics, some taken by Jane from planetlime, and some taken by me!

me at my stall with customers!

My next market will be Made on the Left November (if my application is accepted), wish me luck!
