Looking Back - QLD holiday
I kind of lost momentum blogging about my trip to QLD during the last uni break. Unfortunately it meant that I didnt get to share a huge amount of really quite awesome photos (IMO).
We stayed at this super super dodgy motel one night (mum didnt realise its dodgyness until it was too late). EVERYTHING in the chalet (except the light bulbs i suspect) was at the latest probably mid 70s. It was pure gold photography wise, but it smelt bad, you sank in the bed (thankfully i made my own bed so i at least know the sheets were clean), and you could hear EVERYTHING through the paper thin walls. My mum is like THE champion snorer :P

But here a few of the interior shots done up in poladroid... enjoy!

Lead Me Down the Garden Path Vol II
Whimsy, fairytales and woodland imagery have been filling my head recently, as its kind of the theme for my new label pip and emily (where I will be putting all the laser-cut stuff, apart from at markets, where they will still be osier. Confusing? I thought so too, but its all got to do with marketing and professionalism, of which at I suck).
So imagine my delight when I got out of my car at Dads yesterday and spotted about 200+ mushrooms (or toadstools... someone tell me how to tell the difference again?) growing out of the mulch pile... I took heaps of photos, but I picked just one for you guys. Enjoy.

p.s. do you guys like the new text bigger and skinnier?

Another Holiday Down South...
...And another excuse for me to stop the uni homework I'm supposed to be doing and show off my pretty pictures. This time I went to Nannup for 3-ish days, which I was a tad bummed about because I missed out on going out with Ali J and Niina, two very beautiful and creative ladies, to a group exhibition of local indie artists, of which Ali J was one!!! Please go to her blog post about it, she has the pics of her delicious work and of other things. I love reading her blog. Plus they got awesome haircuts and now look like indie-godesses. Nevertheless, heres my pictures of the holiday, prettied up with poladroid.
kitchen again, this time i really liked the red of the saucepan.
steps at the back of the cottage, with pine trees and such. quaint.

these two are from inside the little "chopping wood room" that was attached around the back of the house. there was a lovely vintage mint-green that didnt really come through when i altered the images, oh well.
taken in the "community park" area. it reminds me of how european down south is, it's like a big southern hemispere forest. Ferns, oaks, pines, blackberries, deciduous trees. sigh. so pretty.
and yeah, this one of the walls of the cottage. the whole place was painted mission brown. most horrible colour in history of the world when used on buildings.

Prevelly and Poladroid
Gosh it's beautiful down south... I knew this before, but every time I go there again, I'm struck anew with the forest-y woodland vibe about it. Over the weekend I was part of a family holiday to Prevelly, a small beach town very near to Margaret River. Amongst other adventures, I went too far in at a surfing beach (without a board) and got dumped about 6 times, worked on my uni assignment, consoled my mother because she had to drive with a noddy wheel for the whole trip (which means a speed limit of eighty and lots of angry motorists behind you) because we got a flat tyre, and the Mazda only has a noddy spare, and hung out with Buddy, my second cousins' (who were with us on the holiday) German Shepard. He's a huge goofball and sook, which weirds me out because my image of German Shepards is one of the nasty barky bitey ones from TV and such.
I also took some photos, and made them pretty with my new favourite photo editing program, Poladroid. It makes Polaroid shaped and contrasted images from your digital ones.
----clicky clicky to see a nice big non-blurry version :)
